Working with Spot from Boston Dynamics at Fukushima Daiichi

Read about the work that Spot from Boston Dynamics is doing at Fukushima Daiichi.  There are still areas that remain unexplored at the site from after the earthquake in March of 2011.  Decomissioning crews at Fukushima Daiichi have been working with Spot to understand these unexplored areas better, and collect more data when it comes to radiation sensing.  Spot is effective at the site because the robot is able to navigate difficult and challenging terrains (stairs, debris, etc).  Other robotic platforms such as wheeled robots are not able to do this.  This allows spot to cover more area, and collect more information.

Enjoy reading how robotics are being used to improve our everyday lives!
